Why Volunteer?

Being a volunteer with Cowichan Works allows you to be on the front lines to create positive change in the Cowichan Region. Even if you only have a small amount of time, we can have a place for you.

The Board of Directors is elected once per year and includes a Chairperson, Vice-Chair, Treasurer, Secretary, and members at large. The Board typically meets once or twice per month for one hour each meeting. Meetings are currently held on Zoom. There are three key standing committees:

The communication Committee

The Communications Committee works to ensure the flow of information is accurate, timely and meaningful. It develops background materials like brochures, PowerPoints, mail outs and newsletter templates. It actively engages with the Cowichan Works membership to determine key issues of interest and shares important information through social media, emails and newsletter. This committee also develops news releases and other external communication pieces to keep the public informed of issues of importance with respect to making positive local change.
